7:17 p.m. - 12 February, 2009 http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090212/ap_on_he_me/autism_ruling Science wins! Hooray! Perhaps the moronic parents who refuse to vaccinate their children will finally start doing so? One can only hope... Happy 200th Birthday to Charles Darwin! Ooh-da-la-lee. It’s been an age since I posted. I had all of these entries started, and I didn’t finish any of them. I wrote a little tribute to the late and great Ms. Bettie Page, but I cannot find it now. I’m not sure where I saved it, but it’s missing. Le sigh. Part of the reason that I don’t post as much anymore is privacy. Since I have a cost-free diary, I either have to make the entire thing private or continue with public posts. I don’t have the heart to switch to another online journal because I have so much invested in this one. I’ve had it for what, eight years now? That’s a good chunk of time! There are things that I want to share openly, so making it private all of the time would prohibit that. I also cannot fathom spending money on my online journal at this point in the game. In the end, I just post less because I don’t feel like I can freely express myself on here anymore. So, how about an update? Prior to the holidays, I had another fabulous photo shoot with Kristy. One of the other dancer’s husbands was our second photographer, and he took some good shots as well. I need to find some time to sit down with Kristy to go over the photos that I like best so she can edit them. She has all sorts of fancy lighting features that I’d love to try. The holidays were blissfully quiet. Thanksgiving was a bit raucous, but we’re staying home next year to avoid it. Christmas and New Year’s were just nice and quiet. We spent oodles of time watching movies, playing Wii, reading books, and relaxing. I didn’t do any of the work that I brought home with me, and that was okay. My older dog is still going strong, but he definitely has his moments. It was hard to see him weak and unable to climb the back stairs; however, there were times when I had to chase him down to get him back inside the house. My sister’s dog, on the other hand, is nuclear. She’s a tank! Tainy cat turned five in December. His vet’s office sent him a birthday card. Since the vet said that Harley Quinn (or Harlequin) was around ten months old in September, we gave her a November birthday that is exactly two months to her adoption day. She’s definitely a Scorpio, lol. While she does have her “stray brain” moments, Princess Harley is fully adapted to living the high life. She is spoiled rotten already! It certainly didn’t take long. Mike is absolutely adorable with her. Erstwhile, Tainy has become more and more of my shadow. He is such a mama’s kitty-boy. =^.^= The New Year hasn’t brought anything tremendous yet. Wedding planning is still ongoing. I’m waiting for a sample of my invitations to arrive. The girls’ dresses are already taken care of, so the maid of honor has moved onto shoe shopping. I still need to work out the DJ, photographer, and videographer. **groans** A part of me wishes that we’d just grabbed our parents and eloped last year. It would have saved so much time, energy, and money! I know that I’m a weird bride—I don’t give a hoot about wedding planning. It’s tedious and time-consuming. I found my dress, and that’s all that mattered to me. I really should have hired the coordinator to do everything, lol. I’ve had some nerdtastic times with my peeps over the last two months. These have included Lost Cycles (so awesome) and Warhammer battles. Yay! That’s all for now. I shall endeavor to be a better about posts this year...
