official post-class break
quotes from J. Robert King's Le Morte d'Avalon:

*"To be a woman is to be a mystery."~Meg

*"Woman was not taken out of man, but man out of woman, and woman out of woman. All was taken out of her."~Morgan

*"When you first fall in love, my dear, it's overwhelming, all-encompassing--a blinding mania. But love matures. It becomes quieter, patient and measured and deep. Some people think love is the blind mania, but true lovers love with open eyes and sane minds."~Dumarus

*"Every face betrayed desire, though some only faintly, and some in a wondering and worshipful sense."~Morgan

*"Desire was the most ancient magic, the gift of the goddess. It existed before the gods. They could not destroy it..."~Morgan

I'm one-hundred pages from the end. This book is the third in King's series: each is told from a different point of view of some important figure in the Arthurian legend. The first was told by Merlin, from a "god's point of view"; the second, by Lancelot, from "a lover's point of view"; and the third, by Morgan le Fey, from the point of view of the avatar of Gaea, a woman. The books aren't quite as historically accurate as some others, like the series by Rosalind Miles (or the numerous other authors that I've read, from Stewart to McKenzie). Truly, they're rather fantastical (like Borchardt). I only started the book two nights ago, so I'm speeding right along.

Anyway. Well, I sat through another biostats lecture this evening. Ironically, I actually like biostats, but I am not overfond of the professor. This is the first year that he has taught, and his inexperience is glaring. Poor thing. I always seem to leave that class with a headache. In my opinion, he makes too many assumptions and doesn't do enough teaching. I hope that this changes by the end of the semester. The class is having a meeting next Tuesday--our president is going to take our concerns to the prof afterwards.

Tomorrow is Friday!!! I have to get a physical done for my job. Geesh, if they think that they are drawing blood from me, they have another thing coming. I am bruised badly on my left arm from the ER on Sunday, and I have a bruise from my Monday appointment on the right. **shakes head** This is probably just a drug test and a form or two to fill out. Afterwards, I have to go grocery shopping and clean the apartment because mi querido is actually coming down this weekend. We're going on a date on Saturday. **huge grin** We haven't done that in a while.

Okee dokey, I've taken my official post-class break. I need to work on more homework now. My, aren't I a dutiful student? Ciao, dahhhlings!!!
